The Sefrou suq finally offered an ideal terrain for experimenting with collaborative ethnography: Geertz, his wife Hildred, and Lawrence Rosen combined their expertise to simultaneously observe different aspects of the suq: legal practices, economic interactions, and forms of moral regulation. This multi-voiced approach enriches the “thick description” and makes it a methodological model. By choosing a lively, everyday suq that is perfectly integrated into an “ordinary” city, Geertz and his team avoid exoticizing the field: on the contrary, they reveal structures of meaning that are usually invisible to outside observers. หนังใหม่2025
